The “Pivot product refinement boot camp” of the TechMyBiz Accelerator Program took place in Lagos from September 2nd to 6th, 2024. The Acceleration Program, a joint endeavour by the GIZ-programmes Digital Transformation Center Nigeria and Sustainable & Inclusive Economic Development for Decent Employment in Nigeria, aids the further development of digital solutions to refine teams and products and improve product market fit. 

The pivot product refinement boot camp comprises 31 startups selected through rigorous screening through GIZ initiatives such as Lab of Tomorrow and the Techmybiz pitchathon. In total, the acceleration has 30 startup founders from different sectors, such as retail, e-commerce, green economy, last-mile and logistics solutions, and the fintech sector.

The boot camp featured a lineup of seasoned facilitators who shared their invaluable insights and practical experiences, covering a wide range of topics, from product ideation to market validation and growth hacking.

The boot camp emphasised on collaborative learning. Participants actively engaged in group discussions, shared their challenges and successes and learned from peer experiences.

The boot camp training addressed the specific needs and challenges faced by startup founders. Participants gained a deeper understanding of product development methodologies, learned effective problem-solving techniques, explored various funding options, and developed strategies for reaching their target market. Beyond the technical aspects of startup development, the boot camp also focused on building a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants were encouraged to think outside the box, embrace risk, and pursue their passions.

With this foundation, the startups are now ready to embark on their development plans with full determination to drive their solutions in the coming weeks and months.
